Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel

born in 1954, Executive Director and Scientific Director of the Hasso-Plattner-Institute for IT-Systems Engineering at Potsdam University and full professor for computer science. Meinel studied mathematics and computer science at Humboldt University in Berlin. He passed his doctorate in 1981.

After a first tenure at the University of Paderborn in 1991 and a visiting position at the Max-Planck-Institute for computer science in Saarbrücken, Meinel became full professor for computer science at the University of Trier. From 1998 to 2002 Christoph Meinel was director of the Institut für Telematik e.V., Trier.
