Christian Schenk

Christian Schenk won decathlon gold at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 thus becoming “King of Athletes”. His extraordinary career included winning the 1985 European Championships as well as 3rd place at both the 1990 European Championships and 1991 World Championships. His career on the track came to an end with a personal best in Stuttgart in 1993.

Having studied journalism in Mainz while working free-lance with ZDF television, he founded the Christian Schenk Sports Agency in 1995. The core competences of the agency are the creation and realization of sport-marketing and health-concepts. In these fields, the agency realizes national projects within a network of clients and partners from business, the health sector, politics and sport. Hailing from the port city of Rostock, Christian directed the 2002 Berlin Athletics Meeting (ISTAF) and has founded and led the Sporthilfe Elite-Forum (centre of sporting excel- lence) at Schloss und Gut Liebenberg. Since 2001, Christian also acts as an adviser in sports marketing to Deutsche Kreditbank AG (DKB) and in this capacity assisted its developing into one of the major supporters of sports in Germany.
