Markus Vetter
Markus Vetter, born 1967, graduated in Economics (1991) and Media Theory and Practice (1994). His studies included long term stays in Buenos Aires and Madrid as well as practical internships in the media and film business. He was selected for the Discovery Campus Masterschool 2004, a 10-month European training program in international co-productions in the nonfiction sector.
Since 1994 he has been working as a TV editor, producer and director at ARD/SWR in Baden-Baden and Stuttgart. His films have received attention at national and international film festivals and won numerous prizes, including 3 Adolf Grimme Awards – the German Oscar.
Among his portfolio of films and documentations are The Tunnel (BRD 1999, 90min), War Games (BRD 2002, 90 min), The Unbreakables (BRD 2006, 90min), My father the Turk (BRD 2006, 90 min) and Heart of Jenin (BRD 2008, 90min).
In November 2008, Marcus co-founded Cinema Jenin e.V. in order to realize an extraordinary peace project in Jenin, Palestine.
