Alexander Olek is one of the founders and also Chairman of the Advisory Board of PHORMS Management AG, which runs private bilingual schools in Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover, Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich. He is also head and founder of In- PHORMS, a company that provides an online network specialized on education and PerPHORMS, which runs an education funds. He studied mathematics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he founded one of South America’s first molecular diagnostics companies. He then earned his Bachelor of Science with Honors in biochemistry at the University of London and did his Ph.D. at the Max-Planck Institute in Berlin, Germany.

In the 90s, he co-founded Genom Analytic GmbH in Bremen as well as Biopsytec and Epigenomics in Berlin. He headed Epigenomics’ Executive Board and led the company through an IPO in 2004.

He is socially and politically active. He used to be a member of Chancellor Schroeder’s innovation council and taught entrepreneurship at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
