Dr. Maritta Koch-Weser is CEO of The Global Exchange for Social Investment – GEXSI, a UK Charity and LLP. She has a distinguished career in international development, as an anthropologist and environmentalist, with field experience in Latin America, South & East Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, parts of the Middle East, Eastern Europe & countries of the former Soviet Union.

For 20 years she worked at the World Bank where she held senior managerial positions. She served as Director General of IUCN -The World Conservation Union, and is Founder/President of Earth3000. She also serves on the boards of a range of organizations and businesses committed to sustainable development.
