Johanna Richter, executive director of agbe e.V. was born in 1983 in Berlin. She studied cultural science at Viadrina in Frankfurt/O and Paris. Holding a BA degree, she is about to finish the European master in children’s rights at the Free University of Berlin. She founded the children and youth parliament in Berlin, was a member of the federal pupils’ commission of Berlin, initiated concepts such as “ethics at school” and “certificates for teachers” and was the first pupil in German history to initiate general changes to the policies of school subjects.
From early on she felt obliged to take an active role in social participation, especially for Africa. Besides teaching English and German in Togo, working at the German embassy in Ouagadougou and producing a film on FGM in Burkina Faso, she founded the association agbe e.V. Agbe supports associations in Africa ideally and financially. Full of energy, her aim is to make a difference. A kindergarten in Tomegbé is just the beginning.
