Eran Davidson, Managing Partner and CEO

Eran Davidson

Eran Davidson has been Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Hasso Plattner Ventures since its foundation in 2005. From 2002 to 2005 he served as CEO for ProSeed Capital Fund in Tel Aviv. Under his auspices the Technion Technology Incubator was taken over and privatized. It then went on to become the most successful technology incubator in Israel. Before working with ProSeed Eran served as the Managing Partner at Eurofund 2000 LP in Israel. From 1996 to 2000 Eran was Vice President at Inventech Industrial Ventures in Tel Aviv. ProSeed, Eurofund and Inventech are venture capital suppliers that invested in early-stage high-tech companies under Eran’s direction. Most of the investments have since developed into fully mature enterprises and some are being traded on the NASDAQ and other international stock exchanges. From 1995 to 1996 Eran served as Vice President of Open Sky Ltd. and from 1991 to 1993 he headed his own law company.

Eran received his degree in Law from Tel Aviv University and holds an MBA from Boston University.

Dr. Rouven Westphal, Partner and CFO

Rouven Westphal

Rouven Westphal is a Partner and CFO of Hasso Plattner Ventures. Prior to this he served on the executive board of a start-up company. From 2000 to 2003 he built up the most successful Business Angel network in Germany. During this time Rouven brokered startup capital for the formation of more than 50 companies with a total volume of over €50m. Some of these companies are already being traded on US and European stock markets. Together with other recognized Business Angels he also participated in several investments, two of which have already proven their success. From 1997 to 2000 he worked for Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture).

Rouven holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Business Administration (on Entrepreneurial Finance).


Steve Bartlik, Senior Analyst

Steve Bartlik

Steve Bartlik works as Senior Analyst for Hasso Plattner Ventures. From 2005 to 2007 he worked at BC Brandenburg Capital, a regionally focused VC company, as an Investment Manager. During this time he was in involved in two successful trade sales. Previously Steve worked as Marketing Controller for Jamba! In 2004 he was a member of the technology, communications and entertainment team of Ernst & Young’s M&A advisory.

Steve Bartlik holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Humboldt University Berlin.


Ulf Schmidt, Analyst

Ulf Schmidt

Ulf Schmidt is an Analyst for Hasso Plattner Ventures. He gained relevant VC experience while working as a Business Analyst with Cape Venture Partners in Cape Town, South Africa He already worked part-time for Hasso Plattner Ventures during his graduation.

Ulf holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Heidelberg University Heidelberg and Auckland, New Zealand.


Henning Seeschaaf, Analyst

Henning Seeschaaf

Henning Seeschaaf is an Analyst for Hasso Plattner Ventures. Henning previously worked part-time for a start-up company in the area of organic semiconductors. During this time he supported the completion of the second round of financing. Henning is co-founder of LUGGS, a start-up providing research & consultancy services in the field of Web 2.0.

He holds a Diploma in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University Dresden.
